Promoting African Cultural Art and Performance
Trans-Art produce fun, motivational and inspirational performances and workshops which aim to raise cultural awareness and offer an insight into the rich African cultural heritage.
Our educational workshops bring a dash of African style to schools and youth groups, whilst engaging children and young people with vibrant dance routines, intriguing poetry and traditional music and song. They aim to give participants an awareness of a lifestyle and culture far removed from everyday UK existence and an appreciation of the benefits of diversity.
Moonlight Tales and Expression is our take on round the campfire style storytelling. We tell traditional tales in an intimate environment, creating a compelling narrative which completely absorbs young minds and is particularly suited to primary age children.
Trans-Art entertain in style, and so perform in rich, traditional, colourful costumes which fire the imagination by providing contrast to UK high street dress. The combination of the colourful costumes and the high energy vibe of the performances creates a visual and experiential delight that will have audiences asking for more.
If you’d like, we can also bring a taste of Africa to any of our performances, courtesy of the catering team at Community Forward who specialise in African cuisine, meaning that you can sample the delights of pepper soup, joloff rice or any number of exotic menus.
As well as educational workshops, Trans-Art participates in a Befriending the Elderly programme where we take our performance into places such as residential care homes and day centres. We entertain your clients and guests with a combination of music, song and dance guaranteed to enliven the spirit and fire the imagination. All of our team have enhanced DBS checks and many have worked in residential care settings and so you can be assured that safeguarding is our highest priority.
