On the 16th January 2015, ‘Your Health and Wellbeing Forum’ was established following Hull – Healthier Together (Health and wellbeing strategy 2014 – 2020) with the aim of sharing good practices, explore barriers, and develop new strategies and delivery approach to promote access to available health services.
Your Health and Well-Being Forum is a place for the local authority, health agencies and voluntary and community groups who provide health and well-being related services to come together and share information. The aim is to address the local needs of Black and Ethnic Minority groups, and enable them to grow and develop healthy lifestyles.
Some of the key areas are:
- Healthy Eating and Lifestyles
- Diabetes Awareness
- Sexual Health
- Musico-Social Activities
- Mental Wellbeing
- End of Life Care
- Diversity Well-Being
- Accessing GP Services
This members of this forum are representative from CHCP, Healthwatch, C.I.S.S, Rooted in Hull, Probe, Goodwin, Bameen, Community Forward, Groundworks, Case, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Hull Black History Partnership, Hull University (BAME, ACS).
We are presently planning Your Health and Wellbeing Day for wider community group to access health services and live healthy lifestyle. Our next meeting is on the 18th February 2015, 2pm and 4th March 2015, 9.15am @ Best Hope office. Subsequent meeting dates are 22nd April, 20th May, 17th June and 22nd July, 2015.
Your health and wellbeing day will be celebrated as part of our annual Summertime event on the 26th July 2015. Contact us for more information.
